About Us
We began raising German Shepherds around 1982. Several of the dogs we raised went on into police service around the state of Texas. Zebo was the last of the line who was trained in narcotic detection. He was a partner and friend on duty for 7 years. Zebo passed in November of 2007 at a ripe old age of 13.
We decided to get back into raising dogs but felt like we did not want a dog quite as big as the german shepherd. That is when we began researching the Miniature Australian Shepherd. We purchased our first Aussie of the miniature variety ( Tache ) in 2002 and have been hooked ever since. We are members of MASCA and NAMASCUSA and this is where our learning really began. When you check the rules for registering a puppy with NAMASCUSA you'll find that the parents of the puppy must be proven to have both certified hips and eyes being cerfed. This is a standard meant to better the breed.
Innovative is a dedicated breeder of the Australian Shepherd of the Miniature Variety. Our puppies will have been started on the road to success by being well socialized and exposed to a variety of new experiences. We will take deposits after learning more about our prospective puppy owners. Most of our puppy's will be required to be spayed or neutered. Prospective puppy owners will be required to sign a contract. Puppies will be able to go to their new homes after 8 weeks of age upon receiving a vet check. We will be available for advise as we are committed to the well being of our Aussies of the miniature variety.
